OBOSHEEN is a Beothuk Indian word meaning-one who or something that warms- and these wonderful animals certainly do. A Bit of History About Obosheen Alpacas The year 2000 began a new millennium as well as a new venture for me when my life long dream of owning a small farm on the outskirts of my hometown became a reality. Research convinced me that the animals of choice to raise were ALPACAS. Their modest size, good health, adaptability and fleece which is nearly hypo-allergenic, warmer than wool and easy to process,fit the criteria of an easy, profitable and charming animal to raise. My past experiences as a teacher, Realtor and small business owner have all contributed to the knowledge of breeding a herd that possesses diverse genetics, excellent bloodlines, a variety of colors and loads of wonderful fleece. Any new owner of an OBOSHEEN ALPACA will benefit from the wisdom I have gained, availability of training, boarding, breeding and product. Alpacas at Obosheen trace their genetics to Chili, Bolivia and Peru where they have been raised for over 5000 thousand years. Obosheen's machos, Atlantic Seasides Jah and Tell Dandaloo, have as their sire the famous champion, Victor's Vaccoyo, now back in the United States for limited breedings. These studs pass on the genetics for extremely dense, crimpy, fine fleece to their crias. Female alpacas, known as hembras, can be agisted here for free when being bred to one of Obosheen's studs, and come with a 24 hour live birth guarantee or you re breed to a macho of your choice at no additional cost. Any maiden alpaca purchased here comes with a free breeding to a sire of your choice when she reaches 14-18 months of age. Bred female alpacas are ultra- sounded to insure that they are pregnant and also come with a re breed and 24 hour live birth guarantee. Her half sisters Yolanda and Bridgit won First and Second at the Futurity in Orangeville with Yolanda winning reserve white female. These young ladies are all for sale, ready to be bred this 09 spring and would greatly enhance the breeding program of any beginning alpaca farmer or established alpaca breeder. Their second fleece grew in with all the best qualities one looks for in a female. They are all white but some have colored dams and bred to color could easily produce a cria of any color.
